Sibyll Hoch - CST-T, LMT

Owner, Licensed Massage Therapist, CranioSacral Therapist

Certified CranioSacral Therapist CST-T
Owner/Founder
FL MA41439

Sibyll has done Bodywork for 30 years and has assisted numerous people in their quest to overcome pain and tension, recover from injury, feel better within themselves and to function better in their lives.

Sibyll believes that in order to truly reach our deeply seated holding patterns - that over time may lead to pain and other health challenges, as well as prevent us from fully expressing our true nature - we need a calming, safe environment and a non-invasive touch. In her experience this is an important consideration for anyone with chronic health challenges, but in particular for people who are highly sensitive and those who might have tried many different therapies with little effect.

She started out as a Physical Therapist, trained at the University Hospital of Zurich, Switzerland. After graduating in 1993, she attended a Professional Training in the Feldenkrais Method®, a learning method that uses gentle movements to increase self-awareness and rediscover more efficient movement and postural patterns. She worked for several years as a PT in different Private Clinics and Hospitals in Switzerland and taught Feldenkrais® classes to hospital staff and public.

In 1998 Sibyll left Switzerland and lived in Haiti for 2 years where she worked as a Physical Therapist with disabled and neglected orphan children, helping them advance in their severely delayed development. This was one of the most rewarding experiences of her life.

In 2003 she moved to Florida and became a Licensed Massage Therapist. She took her first CranioSacral Therapy class in 2008 and immediately fell in love with this gentle, “magical” work. In 2011 she obtained her CranioSacral Therapy Techniques Certification from the Upledger Institue. She has continued taking additional CranioSacral classes ever since and enjoys helping as a teacher assistant for CranioSacral 1 & 2 Classes at the Upledger Institute. In 2018 she followed her calling of doing only CranioSacral Therapy, stopped offering massages and invited other talented and experienced Massage Therapists to join her at Eden Place.

Sibyll lives with her husband and their 2 daughters in the Eden Place Neighborhood in Lake Worth since 2007. When she is not treating clients or organizing her business, she loves spending time with her family, swimming, walking, riding her bicycle and doing Yoga. More than anything, she enjoys being outdoors and in nature.

Sibyll speaks English, German, Spanish, Haitian Creole, Italian and French - most of them fluently.

Jill Douglas - LMT, E-RYT

Licensed Massage Therapist, Registered Yoga Teacher, Certified Ayurvedic Health Practitioner - FL MA45928

As a healer, teacher, world traveler, and mama Jill guides and supports soulful, modern women in knowing themselves better, trusting themselves more, and turning challenges into opportunities using the wisdom of Massage, Yoga and Ayurveda.

Her work is an exploration of how the ancient teachings can be made practical and relevant to navigating everyday. She reminds women how to live a life steeped in spiritual awareness, filled with nurturing practices, and guided by their own inner compass. She calls this approach everyday evolution.

Her touch is both gentle and firm and has been described by many as magical. Her way is authentic and down to earth. Jill is a nurturer at her very core. She knows the real work is in reminding rather than teaching the body, mind, and soul how to regain and maintain balance and health. The knowledge that we already are whole and contain everything we need is a guiding force in all she does. Her own life experiences and challenges with heartbreak, grief, parenthood and daily introspection have taught her how to look at each individual and meet them where they are, then with love and skill guide them to realize the gift of a lifetime - being and knowing yourself.

The art of slowing down is prominent is Jill’s personal and professional life, and she is skilled in helping others learn how to do this for themselves. Whether working with Jill through massage and bodywork, Yoga, or Ayurveda the process is the same - gather the tools to learn how to slow down and soften the volume to the world around you in order to turn up the volume within.

Jill holds a BFA in writing and literature, along with her massage therapy license since 2004, and the highest-level Yoga teaching credential from the Yoga Alliance (500 hr E-RYT) since 2002. She has also studied Reiki, Prenatal Yoga and Massage, CranioSacral Therapy, and is a Certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor..

When she is not hard at work, Jill is hanging with her hubby and their twin girls. She spends her time camping, cooking, writing, and chilling with a book in her hammock. She lives in the funky South Florida beach town of Lake Worth, and spends the summers traveling around the U.S. and abroad.

Jonathan Douglas – LMT

Licensed Massage Therapist, Integrative Therapist - FL MA89006

Jonathan was hyperactive most of his life, and a multi-sport athlete - just because he found such joy in movement. This athletic background, along with his training in multiple massage modalities, gives him a deep understanding of movement and the human body. Also, his troubleshooting skill acquired from his many years working as an aircraft technician directs his analytical approach to bodywork.

His inspiration to be a massage therapist began several years ago, after a bicycle crash broke his collar-bone into four pieces. As rehab progression stalled, he devoted much of his spare time to researching and trying new techniques to effectively treat himself.  With this greater understanding, he was able to help himself and several other people, including his own mother’s frozen shoulder. The great sense of satisfaction in helping others recover inspired him to change careers and become a massage therapist.

Jonathan believes in healing through touch.” Healing does not have to be painful; the goal is to make your session both therapeutic and as relaxing as possible. This may involve evaluations of total body structure, posture, flexibility, stability and functional mobility. The fix may include assisted stretches, mobility drills, and corrective exercises as well as relaxing massage as you may expect. The goal is to reduce tension, pain or discomfort, to calm the nervous system and facilitate your body's natural healing processes.”

This style of bodywork is referred to as Integrated Bodywork and is his preferred method of bodywork.

Jo Carpenter - LMT

Licensed Massage Therapist- FL MA93296

Jo Carpenter is a Master Myoskeletal Therapist, trained in the osteopathic-inspired manual therapy techniques of master practitioner Erik Dalton.

This approach uses bones as levers to address muscle, tendon and ligament dysfunctions and related problems such as whiplash, muscle spasms, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, sciatica and headaches. It can also assist in the management of conditions such as scoliosis and fibromyalgia, or serve to loosen up athletes, long-haul travelers or those whose posture is compromised by desk or computer work. Jo has also had considerable success using heated Himalayan salt stones to alleviate muscle tension caused by Harrington rods.

In a session with Jo, you can expect to have your problem areas addressed in a profound and sometimes intense manner. She works with you to achieve a level of depth that is appropriate to your body’s adaptive capacity. This is ‘deep tissue’ massage in its truest sense. This may involve hot towels to loosen chronically tense muscles, stretching with movement, traction, myofascial work, slow sustained pressure, rocking, muscle energy techniques to retrain your nervous system as well more traditional massage strokes and relaxation techniques that help you to recover and reset.

“My clients often say that the session was unlike any massage that they have received before: ‘I have been receiving massage for decades and no one has ever worked that muscle before!’ is a common refrain”. It is not unusual to feel some soreness in addition to a reduction in pain levels for the first 24 hours after the session, followed by a significant shift 48 hours after the treatment. This may range from short to medium-term relief from symptoms or a permanent interruption to the pain cycle.

As a perpetual student, Jo enjoys deepening her knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology, especially at the dissection lab. She has studied with Tom Myers, the leading voice in the world of structural integration (Rolfing) and Aaron Mattes, the developer of active isolated stretching. She incorporates both of these approaches into her work. She has studied Osteopathy at the European School of Osteopathy in England and is an American Council on Exercise-certified Personal Trainer.

In her previous career incarnation, Jo worked all over the world as an analyst and consultant for a London-based political and security risk consultancy. She spent five years in retirement in Belize where she opened a gym and began her journey into manual therapy. She has a Bachelor’s degree in political science and psychology, a Masters in International Relations and an MBA.

When not nerding out with anatomy and physiology books, Jo enjoys solving the New York Times crossword puzzle in the shade of the bamboo in her Lake Worth Beach garden or attending to the every need of her cats Bubba and Grandpaw.

Jo is currently in England attending Osteopathic College. In between semesters she comes to Lake Worth and is available for bookings. Please let us know if you would like to be notified before her next visit here.
